The male and female forms face one another, distinct but equal. In the past, Santorini was a nautical society, where the men had to struggle against the forces of nature in order to provide for their family. The women, who were left behind, were the bastions of the household. This paradoxical equality between men and women in the harsh island life inspired this suite.
